Description

SS-31 (Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-dimethylTyr-Lys-Phe-NH2) studied for its ability to stabilize cardiolipin and support mitochondrial function. It is of significant interest in research involving oxidative stress, mitochondrial bioenergetics, and cellular apoptosis regulation. SS-31 selectively localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it has been shown in vitro to modulate reactive oxygen species (ROS), improve ATP production, and preserve mitochondrial integrity.
